There are 3 scenarios for digital book protection:
Protected content
This is an ebook that the publisher has decided to protect with a technological protection measure in order to preserve the rights of digital works. The file is encrypted by inserting encrypted information.
As long as you stay in the environment of your library (online reading, Vivlio e-reader, Vivlio
software, Android application and iOs), this encryption remains completely invisible.
However, if you wish to leave this environment, the book will be provided in Adobe DRM (Digital
Rights Management) or Adobe DRM. When you download it, you will have a licence file in.acsm
format that needs to be read on an authorised media with an Adobe ID.
How can I read an ebook protected by Adobe DRM?
Watermarking
Digital watermarking does not lock the file but allows it to be traced by inserting a marking (visible or invisible to the reader) in the pages of the ebook.
You can copy and paste it to transfer it to your different reading media.
No protection
An ebook without protection is not subject to any usage restrictions.
You can copy and paste it to transfer it to your different reading media.
